Language of Love and Romance?

     French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Romanian are the five most spoken Romance Languages. What is a Romance Language?  Romance language has nothing to do with romance and love, but with the Latin base of the language or in other words based on the language of the ancient Romans.
     French does sound very flowing and pretty.  The idea of France and French can lead us to romantic ideas, and make us think of knights and romance and Troubadours who sang in the courts of Europe in Medieval times.  And poetry sure sounds good in French!
